01Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is the administrator of the marketersmatch.com service. You can reach the administrator at support@marketersmatch.com for any question about this policy or your data.
02What data we process
- Quiz answers (goal, channels, budget band, industry, timeline) and the calculated match. Until you send a brief these stay in your browser only.
- Brief details you enter: work email, your name, company name, website, role and notes, if you add them.
- The confirmation code status for your email address. The code itself is stored only as a one way hash.
- The page you arrived from, campaign tags in the link and the referring site.
- Technical data needed to run and secure the service: IP address, browser type, device type and the time of each request.
- The content of emails you send to support@marketersmatch.com.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive data, such as health information about individuals, in a brief. Please describe your business needs, not personal details of your patients, clients or staff.
03Why we process it and on what basis
- To show your match result and save it in your browser, at your request.
- To verify your email address and pass your confirmed brief to the marketing team that prepares your proposal. This is necessary to take the steps you asked for before a contract.
- To send the proposal, the match summary and replies to your messages by email.
- To deliver and invoice an engagement you accept, under the engagement contract.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors, based on our legitimate interest.
- To understand which pages help buyers, using aggregated visit data and campaign tags, based on our legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations, for example tax and accounting record keeping once an engagement is invoiced.
04Who receives your data
Your confirmed brief is shared with the marketing team that reviews it and writes your proposal, and, if you accept, with the people who work on your engagement. Beyond that, data is processed on our behalf by service providers bound by contract and confidentiality:
- a hosting provider that runs our servers,
- an email delivery provider that sends confirmation codes, proposals and replies,
- a payment and invoicing provider, only once an engagement is invoiced,
- providers of security and error monitoring for the service.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share briefs with other companies for their own marketing and we do not publish briefs.
05Transfers outside your country
Some providers may process data outside the country where you are, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
06How long we keep it
- Quiz answers that never become a brief stay only in your browser until you clear its storage.
- Briefs that are not confirmed with the email code are deleted within 30 days.
- Confirmed briefs that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 24 months, so you can return to the proposal, and then deleted.
- Data related to an engagement is kept for the length of the engagement and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Security logs are kept for up to 90 days unless needed to investigate an incident.
07Cookies and local storage
The site uses only what it needs to work: a session cookie and a security token for forms, plus local storage in your browser for your quiz answers and match result. We do not place advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Visit statistics are counted without cookies that identify you.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, or receive a copy in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can request to know and delete their personal information, and we do not sell or share it for cross context behavioural advertising.
To use any of these rights, email support@marketersmatch.com from the address you used in the brief. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
09How we protect it
Connections are encrypted, access to briefs requires a personal login and is limited to the people who need it, and confirmation codes are stored as hashes. More detail is on the security and brief data handling page.
10Children
The service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. If a change affects a brief you already sent, we tell you by email.
